Bequests
Gifts by will may be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate or the remainder of an estate after all debts, taxes, expenses, and other bequests have been paid. Specific bequests of property such as art objects, rare books, equipment or real estate may also be made. Bequests may be designated to a specific purpose or program. However, the functions and needs of the agency change over time, so an unrestricted bequest is especially appreciated and will be applied where the need is greatest.
