Day Treatment Programs
Designed for children 5 to 14 years old with significant emotional and behavioral difficulties, programs meet three hours per day after school and during the summer to provide clinical and recreational groups within a therapeutic milieu to:
- Improve adaptive living skills
- Decrease maladaptive, unhealthy behaviors
Families are required to participate in their child's treatment through weekly family meetings and/or multifamily groups.
Psychiatric oversight and medication management are provided for the length of the child's participation. The average course of therapy is six months.
Children throughout Greater New Haven and Fairfield County are eligible to participate. Referrals are accepted from the state Department of Children & Families (DCF), schools, outpatient clinics, other partial hospital programs and healthcare providers.
