Intensive Family Preservation (IFP)
Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) is a short-term, intensive, in-home service designed to intervene quickly in order to reduce immediate safety factors, the risk of future abuse and/or neglect and the need for out of home placement. The Program Goal is to reduce safety factors that put children at imminent risk of removal from the home. The Eligible Population are DCF active families only including:
- Biological, relative foster care, foster families and pre-/post- adoptive families,
- Families whose children have been abused or neglected and may be experiencing trauma as a result of those experiences,
- Children who have behavioral health issues,
- Children who are ages birth to 17, and,
- Having one child who is at high risk of removal.
