Our Programs
Children and families who receive care from Boys & Girls Village become part of the broad, diverse and comprehensive continuum of care our agency provides. Programs include:
Therapeutic Foster Care and Adoption Services: for children 6 to 17 years old who are in custody of DCF and, in many cases, have special emotional needs and challenges.
Charles F. Hayden School: a private, special education school with 4:1 student-teacher ratio for children 6 to 15 years old who need a clinical setting to achieve academic growth.
Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services and Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy: home-based clinical treatment programs for children with significant psychiatric or behavioral difficulties who are often at imminent risk of being removed from the home, or just returning home from residential care.
Day Treatment Program: provides the proven therapies needed to keep a child in the community, or transition home from residential or foster care.
Outpatient Clinical Services: a comprehensive range of psychiatric, individual and family behavioral therapies; medication management; and psychosexual assessments.
Kids Intensive Needs Network (INN): a sub-acute, live-in facility that provides specialized, intensive care to children 5 to 12 with severe psychiatric difficulties as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization.
Safe Haven: a 24/7 emergency shelter with home-like setting for children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect and need immediate shelter.
Adventure Village: a structured, summer, therapeutic, adventure-based day program that uses physical challenges to build character, promote team work and encourage responsibility.
