Safe Haven
The Safe Haven is a 12-bed program, licensed and funded by the state Department of Children & Families (DCF). The program provides immediate shelter care and services to boys and girls ages 6-13 years old (younger and older children will be accomodated when part of a sibling group).
Services are designed for children who are experiencing an initial, out-of-home placement due to abuse and/or neglect or those experiencing a placement disruption. All referrals originate from the state Department of Children & Families.
The goal of the Safe Haven is to provide a safe, nurturing, home-like environment where the child receives a comprehensive assessment and an array of services in order to discharge the child to the next appropriate and least restrictive placement.
