Weather Station at the Day School
Weather station at Day School monitors local conditions 24/7
 |
| Mounted atop a lower campus building at the Hayden Day School at Boys & Girls Village are temperature, wind and humidity sensors, along with a camera. |
In addition to its regular curriculum, the Charles F. Hayden School at Boys & Girls Village is the site of a unique weather station that measures and records local weather data 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
 |
| At the touch of a computer key, staff and students at the Day School can call up a variety of weather statistics and monitoring sites across the nation, as well as curriculum aids. |
The service is provided through the highly popular WeatherBug program, which manages and o perates more than 8,000 WeatherBug tracking stations, including more than 1,000 cameras at schools, public safety facilities and television stations throughout the U.S., including Boys & Girls Village. These professional-grade weather stations generate live neighborhood reports every second.
Boys & Girls Village has been hooked into the WeatherBug network since 2004, and students and staff use the weather station equipment and data to supplement its existing math, science, geography and technology curriculums.
