Welcome to Boys & Girls Village
Spring is near! ... After a long, cold and snowy winter, the staff, children and families are looking forward to warmer weather, flowers and sunnier skies as Spring nears. To all of our December 2009 holiday donors: Thank you so much for helping us fulfill the dreams and wishes of more than 400 children and families, as many individuals, organizations and businesses donated cash, gifts cards, and presents for our children and families.
Welcome to Boys & Girls Village's web site. We are an IRS 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit agency that serves at-risk children and families in Connecticut. Our Mission is to "serve children and families in at-risk situations by strengthening their ability to succeed in life." It has remained the same since our founding in 1942 as the original "Boys Village" for orphaned boys. Yes, a lot has changed in our society and world since the dark days of World War II 68 years ago when we were founded on a then-rural 82 acres located in western Milford, New Haven County, CT.

Then as now, agencies must be fiscally responsible with the limited resources they are provided, and operate intelligently and efficiently to fulfill their mission and to survive economically. President and CEO Stephen A. Joffe, MSW, welcomes and encourages visitors to learn more about our agency's programs and services inside our web site.
Learn More About Donating
Certainly, Boys & Girls Village is a business in every sense of the word. We are in the business of helping at-risk children and families in crisis. Unfortunately, it is a growth business, especially in urban and poor areas and considering the depth and breadth of problems persisting in the 21st century. Children's issues are complicated in scope and complexity.
