Family Development Coordinator

Location: Milford, CT

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Family Development Coordinator will be trained in the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model and ensure all aspects of the TFC Program are consistent with DCF contract expectations regarding resource family recruitment and retention. This position will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of resource family approval, training, and retention. The coordinator will provide frequent and ongoing feedback to the Recruiters. The coordinator will be responsible for attaining the targeted number of approved families and responsible for the collection and dissemination of recruitment, retention, and placement data in accordance with state procedures. Maintaining a collaborative partnership with the Department of Children and Families and other community partners is integral to this role. 

  • Provides supervision to staff members, including orientation, evaluation, and support/monitoring of staff development.  

  • Works as a team member with other clinical and administrative staff to respond to programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.  

  • Partners with supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth. 

  • Oversees implementation and facilitation of agency recruitment plan, resource parent approval & re- approval process, and pre and post training. 

  • Complete resource family assessment and readiness for placement. 

  • Assist in the matching and placement process. 

  • Oversees child specific recruitment plans and reports data accordingly to DCF. 

  • Ensures all data requirements are completed in accordance with state and model standards. 

  • Ensure adherence to program policies and procedures in accordance with contract, licensing, and accreditation standards including PQI measures. 

  • Collaborate with program staff in the resolution of regulatory compliance issues to maintain placement continuity. 

  • Reviews and signs off on all resource family approval and reapprovals. 

  • Acquiring and maintaining the needed skills required in program’s evidenced based model for foster parent training 

  • Evening and occasional weekends are required 

  • Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to drive to off –campus sites for home visits and collaborative meetings and have access to reliable transportation 

PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM: 

The Functional Family Therapy – Foster Care (FFT-FC) Program is a relationally focused and trauma-informed treatment model for youth in the Foster Care System that increases the likelihood of successful positive adjustment and permanency placement. It provides a comprehensive and systematic approach to help youth and families overcome individual and relational trauma to promote stable foster care and long-term permanency placements.
