Residential Program Manager- STAR

LOCATION: Bridgeport, CT 

  • BGV is seeking a Licensed Clinician to be the Program Manager for our Short-term Assessment & Respite Home (STAR)
  • Must have experience in residential settings.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager oversees all operations of the program. They are responsible for ensuring that services are quality driven, strength based, trauma-informed, gender and culturally responsive, and delivered in a fiscally effective manner.  The manager executes the position through programmatic oversight and development, direct supervision of key staff, and ensuring policies and procedures are in accordance with contracts, licensing, and accreditation standards.  The Manager assures that the program provides treatment.

  1. Develops, implements, and ensures policies and procedures in accordance with contract, licensing, and accreditation standards for all program services
  2. Act as the programs clinical lead, including ensuring all program components are trauma informed and support the overarching and specific treatment goals of the youth served.
  3. Complete training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS).
  4. Ensures that clinical and risk management protocols for youth are employed.
  5. Ensures appropriate utilization and quality management of programs, including development of program specific PQI indicators.
  6. Maintains the fiscal integrity of programs through management of budget and efficient resource utilization.
  7. Provides supervision, mentoring and coaching for key staff for the: development, evaluation, supervision and training of program staff, growth and quality of programs and identification of problem/trends and practical solutions.
  8. Collaborates with members of leadership team to provide a continuum of services within the Agency
  9. Regularly briefs the VP Residential & Juvenile Justice Services and CEO to expand, enhance or develop related program services. 
  10. Acts as a liaison with stakeholders to maintain a positive working relationship and to represent mission and goals of Agency.
  11. Oversees that all documentation both clinical and milieu are completed in accordance with state and federal standards.
  12. On-call 24/7 client issues, consultation, or other after-hours concerns.
  13. Master’s Degree in Social Work, must be licensed eligible.
  14. 2-3-years supervisory experience at master’s level. 

 

PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM:

The Short-Term Assessment & Respite Home (STAR) program is a 6-bed group home for males ages 11 to 18 years of age.  The purpose of this program is to provide short-term care, assessment, and a range of clinical and nursing services to children removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or other high-risk circumstances. Staff provide empathic professional care for youth within a routine of daily clinical and educational activities. The youth will receive assessment, substance abuse screening, educational support, and intensive work to engage the family.
