PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF PROGRAM:
The Finance Department is responsible for all financial record keeping and reporting for the agency and being a resource within the agency to facilitate business operations.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The staff accountant supports the overall business functions of the agency, and is specifically responsible for accounts receivable, and all fee for service billing as it pertains to the agency revenue cycle.  Participation in month end and year end closing activities including financial reporting to state funding agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Maintain and reconcile detailed accounts receivable reports
  2. Oversee the appropriate submission of all claims to third party payers
  3. Accounts receivable collections
  4. Preparing monthly revenue reports
  5. Tracking of general ledger expenses for grant funded programs
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with good organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail & accuracy
  • Minimum of 2 years directly related experience working as an accountant
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge software
  • Familiarity with Carelogic EHR system
  • Non-profit/grant accounting experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
