Kay joined Boys & Girls Village in January 2020 as the Director of Vocational and Educational Planning. She has over 30 years of experience serving special education students and their families in the public sector. Kay earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Russell Sage College and her Master’s Degree in Reading as well as her Sixth Year Certificate of Advanced Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University.
Prior to joining BGV, Kay worked for Monroe Public Schools, starting her career as a High School Special Education teacher, then as a High School Department Chair, the Assistant Director of Student Support Services and then most recently as the Director of Student Support Services where she served a population of 425 students and led an organization of over 100 staff.
Kay is excited to start this new chapter of her career serving as a primary outreach to local area special education directors and leading the effort of expanding transitional programming for older youth; including our new Life Skills and Vocational Training Facility .
Kay and her husband Rob have two grown children and loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys sporting events, especially those where her children are competing, and her “happy place” is on a beach with a good book.
