Stephanie Gallagher, LMFT, joined Boys & Girls Village in 2009 and has provided clinical and management services in both the IICAPS and MDFT programs (intensive in-home programs that provide clinical, psychiatric and case management services to children/families). Stephanie received her master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Fairfield University in 2001, and she became licensed in 2004. Prior to joining BGV, she served as a clinician for 11 years at Fairfield Counseling Services, providing outpatient therapy to adolescents and adults working through various psychosocial stressors, trauma, addiction and psychiatric disorders. In 2012, she became certified in the MDFT model and was certified as a supervisor in 2013. In 2015, she was promoted to Director of Evidenced Based Services at BGV, overseeing three clinical programs that utilize evidenced based models to help at-risk youth with trauma, substance abuse issues, and problem sexual behavior. Stephanie has developed strong relationships with community providers such as DCF and Juvenile Probation. She is a clinical fellow of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (AAMFT), and is a member of the Connecticut Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (CTAMFT). She has presented the MDFT model at Southern Connecticut State University to encourage graduate students to consider evidenced base practices in their careers. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, having visited several islands (her favorite being Aruba) and locations in Europe. She enjoys music, movies, food and sports (she is an avid New York Giants fan), as long as these experiences are shared with the ones she loves.
