Boys and Girls Village

A Message From Our New CEO

Posted on

Dear Friends,

Together with my colleagues at Boys & Girls Village I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year!

I am honored and privileged to assume the additional role of CEO of the organization, and I am deeply grateful to my predecessor, Dr. Steven Kant, for his leadership and vision these past six years. I’m equally inspired by the commitment of our board, as together we have propelled BGV’s growth. I look forward to continuing this progress toward fulfilling our mission.

In the coming year, we can look forward to helping even more at-risk children and their families receive the treatment, education, and support they need to build a new path to a brighter future. We will also welcome our new Life Skills & Vocational Training Center, a place for youth to explore a variety of vocational opportunities, gain work experience and achieve paid employment and economic self-sufficiency.

I am proud to be given this wonderful opportunity and I'm dedicated to advancing BGV’s role as a statewide leader in providing mental health treatment, permanency planning and educational services to Connecticut’s most vulnerable youth and their families.

Sincerely,
Kim Shaunesey, Ph.D.
BGV C.E.O. and President
