Boys & Girls Village offers an array of services for children and their families. These services range from highly structured sub-acute services on campus to intensive intervention and care in the home and the community. Our broad range of programs and services are designed to work collaboratively with families, state and local agencies, and other community providers.

Clinician- MDFT

Boys & Girls Village is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinician to join our team. As a Clinician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality mental health services to our clients. The ideal candidate should be licensed and experienced in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions.

Mental Health Counselor

• BGV is seeking a Bachelor’s Level Mental Health Counselor for our Intensive In-home Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS).

Mental Health Worker (MHW)

The Mental Health Worker are responsible for directly supervising and engaging with youth and assisting them in developing adaptive living skills. They also actively monitor and manage crisis situations. They drive youth to court, appointments and recreational trips.

Resource Family Recruiter-

The Recruiter is responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of BGV’s recruitment and retention goals in compliance with contract requirements. Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency to effectively recruit and determine eligibility based on initial screening, and efficiently approve qualified resource families for the FFT- FC Program within assigned geographic areas.

The Recruiter is also responsible for pre-approval training, post- approval training, and the retention of foster families. This position serves as a liaison between Boys &Girls Village FFT- FC Program, DCF, the media, and other community members. Provides continuous recruitment services throughout Greater New Haven area to raise awareness and develop resources for children and/or youth who require care due to abuse, neglect, or other at risk factors.

Family Support Specialist - FFT

The FFT-FC Family Support Specialist (FFS) works in collaboration with a clinician providing services in foster family and birth family homes. The FSS will be trained in the Functional Family Therapy-Foster Care evidence-based treatment model and adhere to all model requirements. Documentation will be completed according to model requirements and implemented into the electronic database systems. FSS will participate in weekly individual supervision and submit video tapes for FFT consultation and certification. The FSS will identify and refer children and families (both birth and foster) to community-based resources, as well as provide supervised visitation to birth families.

Cook/Kitchen Staff

Collaborates with the Kitchen Manager to create daily specials, menu planning, and works with as part of the team. The cook prepares and serves all three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the clients and staff on their scheduled days of work, and during special events. The cook also assists in culinary vocational training of clients. Must be willing and able to come to work on holidays as scheduled and in all types of weather as this role is considered an “essential” function in supporting and feeding our clients.

Transitional Coordinator

The Transitional Coordinator oversees the Job Coach and the vocational opportunities for youth at Charles F Hayden School by coordinating opportunities in the school setting and local community. The Transitional Coordinator is responsible for assessing students’ readiness for services, teaching prevocational skills and supervision of students while in placements. The coordinator tracks and presents progress data to school staff, LEAs, and families.

Care Coordinator-Child First

The Care Coordinator partners with a Mental Health and Developmental Clinician to support families served by Child First. The Care Coordinator works collaboratively with the family to connect the child and family with desired, community-based services and support while maintaining Child First’s reflective, relationship-based stance. The Care Coordinator also enhances caregiver executive functioning skills (e.g., planning, organizing, managing time, focusing attention, regulating emotions, reflecting on progress) and engages the caregiver-child dyad in activities to strengthen the relationship. Through their work with families, the Care Coordinator both decreases the “toxic” stress in the home environment and enhances opportunities for optimal child development, thereby promoting healthy brain development for infants and young children. The best candidate for this position is highly organized, self-motivated, reliable, and flexible (including willingness to work non-traditional hours, including at least one evening) with an openness to learning, capacity for self-reflection, eagerness to participate in reflective clinical supervision and desire to be part of a team

Program Manager- Child First

The Program Manager will be trained in and provide leadership of the Child First model. The Program Manager will provide frequent and ongoing feedback to the clinicians and care coordinators, as well as facilitate weekly team consultation and case reviews. The Program Manager will ensure model fidelity, timely documentation of all required materials, and work towards certification of all team members in the Child First model. Maintaining a collaborative partnership with the Department of Children and Families and other community partners is integral to this role.

Clinician-Child First

The Mental Health and Developmental Clinician partners with a Care Coordinator to support families served by Child First. The Clinician engages with both the caregiver and child in a supportive, reflective, and exploratory manner which fosters a protective, nurturing, and responsive caregiver-child relationship. The Clinician’s therapeutic intervention focuses on 1) healing from trauma; 2) helping caregivers understand typical developmental challenges and expectations; 3) increasing caregivers’ ability to reflect on the meaning and feelings motivating a child’s behavior; 4) supporting caregivers’ problem solving; and 5) helping caregivers understand the psychodynamic relationship between parental feelings, history, and the caregiver response to the child. The Clinician can also provide consultation to teachers in early care and education settings, as needed. The best candidate for this position is highly organized, self-motivated, reliable, and flexible with an openness to learning, capacity for self-reflection, eagerness to participate in reflective clinical supervision, and desire to be part of a team.
