Coordinator-IICAPS

Boys & Girls Village offers an array of services for children and their families. These services range from highly structured sub-acute services on campus to intensive intervention and care in the home and the community. Our broad range of programs and services are designed to work collaboratively with families, state and local agencies, and other community providers.


PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM,

 

To provide intensive in home services to children and adolescents who because of the complexity and severity of the psychiatric needs are at risk for hospitalization; to prevent hospitalization or need for other institutional levels of care and to maximize community functioning.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

The IICAPS coordinator provides clinical supervision to the IICAPS teams as well as direct services to families when needed.  Coordinator assists the Director with managing the productivity of the IICAPS teams and conducts chart audits to ensure that documentation is complete and up to date. The Coordinator assists the gathering of CQ1 measures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Maintain fiscal stability of program by monitoring weekly billing of assigned teams.
  • Provides 2 hours per week of clinical supervision to each assigned team.
  • Manages day-to-day activities of IICAPS staff in assigned teams.
  • Provides coverage thru direct care to client in absence of a team member as assigned.
  • Perform evaluations and treatment of children, parents, and families as needed.
  • Assists in the running and scheduling of rounds
  • Provides psychotherapeutic services to families through individual and family therapy to promote change in the family system.
  • Guide family and team in formulation of treatment goals and strategies.
  • Formulate recommendations with entire IICAPS team.
  • Attend IICAPS trainings and adhere to Yale IICAPS model as overseen by Director.
  • After hours on call duty as part of a regular rotation (may require going into the home).
  • Ensure staff is obtaining insurance authorization for cases.
  • Documents and evaluates all services and procedures to be in adherence with state statutes, Yale, COA and Boys & Girls Village standards.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in supervision and case presentations.    
  • Provides resolution of problems arising during a crisis (on call rotation via cell phone).
  • Collaborates with other service providers to assure continuity of care.
  • Assist with data collection through BMS and BGV internal QI measures
  • Keeps the Director apprised of all at risk situations.
  • Prevents, intervenes and reports instances of child abuse or neglect.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to deliver seamless services through Boys & Girls Village.
  • Provides back up to on-call staff, maintaining a flexible work schedule.
  • Weekly supervision with director.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

 

  • Must possess an LCSW or equivalent and be licensed in the state of Connecticut. 
  • Must have experience supervising direct care staff.
  • Must have significant knowledge of diverse populations served by the program and short-term treatment methodologies.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule and be in the office during normal business hours and available after hours for on call support

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Previous experience with in home behavioral health.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) desired.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Oversees and monitors charting.
  • Reviews service and treatment plans of all active cases to insure appropriateness of care.
  • Responsible for clinical integrity of services delivered.
  • Meets with teams assigned
  • Assists director in writing 90 day and annual reviews.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

  • Must be able to climb several flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to work with clients in a variety of settings.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

 

  • Must be willing to drive to off –campus sites for home visits and collaborative meetings.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and reliable transportation
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule.
